Besides the obvious, “Stop Stealing People’s Food” rule, what other important rules need to observed in the kitchen.   One that comes to mind is washing your dishes after using them and returning them to the cupboard.  My office just lost all of our kitchen dishes minus plastic ware because of this laziness.

Refilling the coffee pot is one that everyone to heed as well.   Who appreciates walking in to the break room to an empty pot of coffee???  That’s right, no one!!!   So do a few nice things for your co-workers when you are in the communal break room.  And I don’t know why you wouldn’t, you are still getting paid no matter what you are doing.

There is an old misconception that allowing your employees to dress down will lower productivity and make your employees be less professional.   In my opinion, if you are putting that much power in a dress shirt and slacks, I have some beach front property in Arizona for you to look at.

I understand if you have clients coming in the office or if you are a sales team then the dress code matters.  But outside of those two reasons, let them dress down.   You can even go as far as Google has gone and say they can were causal clothes as long as they are wearing their Google branded shirts.

I have to give this person credit, it did take some thought to create such an awesome miniature siege machine but really is the best use of the company’s time.   If there is either free time for your staff or if they are taking a break from the work they should be doing, you need to spice it up for them.

Doing an interoffice trade is a good way to keep people focused.   Have employee help out in a section of the office that they are not trained in.  It will help people understand what other people do and works great for office unity.    Then by the time they are back to their own duties, they will need to play a little catch up.   It’s a win – win!

I am not just being literal, having more windows makes people not feel so boxed in and helps with morale.  People don’t like the feeling that they are shut in because when they do, they somewhat view in a jail type place and you never want your employees to have feeling.

I know that you can’t change your office location that easily but keep this in mind that people are tired of being pent up.  Re-arrange your office so that your break room is in a window-filled room.  Have a weekly or monthly lunch that you pay for your employees to see the light of day.   These will help your team attitude out a lot.

Is it a laziness thing or just one of those things that if technology can do it for us that we simple stop doing like opening doors or walkways in airports.  Well, if the world is going that way, then I will be one of the last stalwarts against this.   I don’t see the reason and will keep my stapler.

You don’t have to go broke with the super expensive chairs just don’t also have people sitting on folding chairs.   Make sure that they have lumber support and other adjustments and your employees will be happy.

I figure that it is just a big computer that allow all the computers to link together and get to the internet.  Then what causes it to break down as often as it does, isn’t it just a gateway that is transferring information.   Shouldn’t a restart fix all the problems like on a normal computer.   I am sure these mysteries will allude me forever but I just wanted to let someone know that I share the same problem that you do.

My point with this, is that companies should not just keep running some machine just because it is still running.   No, if it interfere with the feel of the office or makes some loud annoying sound… drop it!

I love the little buggers. I am so thorough about it that each color of the post its has significance and priority levels to them.   If someone messes with my post it notes, it puts my day into a confused state.

It is funny how such a little thing affects my date and my work schedule.  It is true, that sometimes the simplest things are the best.

Though, I have figure out a way to even get more off on my Black Friday sales.  My master plan this year is to get gift certificates that at a discount on sites like citydeals or others and then use them for payment on my items.  This is what I call a double bonus, a genius move on my part!
